Patsy C. Martin, Bio

Patsy C. Martin is retired president and region executive of one of the largest banks in Georgia. In this capacity, Patsy had responsibility for 35 branch offices in 14 counties of Georgia, including Valdosta, Albany, Waycross, Moultrie, Tifton, Macon, Waycross, Perry, Forsyth, and Warner Robins.

After retirement, Patsy began her real estate career in 2002. She has listed and sold multi-millions every year and is a gold lifetime member of the Presidential Awards Club. Voted Albany Board’s Realtor of the Year in 2007, Patsy is past President of the Albany Board of Realtors, as well as past director of Georgia Association of Realtors. In 2012, Patsy was recognized by the Albany Board of Realtors with its prestigious Community Service Award.

Her experience as a community leader serves her clients well. As past member of Dougherty’s Economic Development Commission, Patsy was selected by the Georgia Economic Developer’s Association as Volunteer of the Year. Patsy served as the Albany Chamber of Commerce’s first woman president.

She was appointed by the governor to serve on both the Georgia Rural Development Council and the Georgia Council for the Arts. A past president of the Albany Museum of Art and the Albany Symphony, Patsy has, also, been a strong advocate for the arts in Georgia.

In 2013, Patsy was honored by Albany State University as their 2013 Community Service Award recipient.

In December 2013, Patsy was selected by Phoebe Putney Foundation as its 2013 Lights of Love Tree Lighter, where their goal was exceeded by S21,000.

A founder of Leadership Albany and a past board member of Leadership Georgia, Patsy has been extremely involved in leadership development throughout the state. She was presented, in 1989, The Ed Freeman Outstanding Alumni Leadership Award by Leadership Albany.

A past member of the Rotary Club, she has served as program chair, secretary and on the board of directors.

Past service includes Community Advisory Board Junior League of Albany, Inc., President of Girls, Inc., Advisory Boards of Darton College and Albany State University. President of the Albany/Dougherty United Way, president of Girl’s Inc. as well as president of the Georgia Association of United Ways.

Patsy has served on the boards of South Georgia Boy Scout Council, where she Chaired the annual fundraising breakfast.

Patsy served 2016-2107 as president of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Albany

And was the chair of the annual Steak and Burger dinner and has been on the executive board of the organization since 2016.

She was the recipient of the Beverly Burton outstanding Board member Award for the Southeastern United States.

She received the Women or Worth award from Darton College, which is now Albany State University.  She was the recipient of the Georgia Economic Developers’ statewide Volunteer of the Year award.  Patsy was the 2007 Realtor of the Year by The Albany Board of Realtors.

The Board of Trustees, Staff Parish and Administrative Council,

As well a 4-year tenure on the South Georgia Methodist Conference Finance Committee.

Patsy is the proud mother of Dee Cox (Layne) and Missy Cox Funderburk (John), and the Very proud grandmother of Jay Funderburk (Katie), Jordan Funderburk,

Nolen and Kate Cox.
